Three Weeks with My Brother
>> Three Weeks With My Brother by Nicholas and Micah Sparks
This is Nicholas Sparks only nonfiction work to date It is a poignant story of his trip around the world with his brother Micah involving three weeks of reflection about their relationship Additional accounts both humorous and tragic of past family moments are moving introspective real life testimonies of growing up as rambunctious children discovering people and places that brought love and loss in equal portions
I was moved when the author spoke about his sister Dana and her struggle with brain cancer passing while still a young woman at the tender age of thirty three
Nicholas Sparks while struggling with his sisters health for seven years hoping for a permanent reversal of her condition that would make her well also had a little boy named Kyle who couldn t talk He and his wife Kathy felt many fears for his future Working tirelessly with Kyle was incredibly frustrating for them causing Mr Sparks to have frequent moments being angry at God
Many a reader will bond with these personal trials as we have had them ourselves Because of this I felt as though I was a close friend of the Sparks s while reading these accounts Coupled with these glimpses of family life in California and North Carolina is how Nicholas became a best selling author which I found very interesting being a writer myself
Adding to this was fine descriptive travel writing about all the stops Micah and Nicholas made in cities and countries around the world
Anyone who takes the time to read this captivating memoir will be richly blessed with knowledge and experience of what it is like to be a human being on this earth
