I was amazed at how the careers and policies of Obama and FDR align Economics was is not there specialty however they mastered politics The US economy including our livelihoods were and are their playground Hopefully we are wiser than the voters in 1936 and we can end government meddling A must read for anyone who wants to see how government controls and takeovers can affect us all and especially the poorest citizens
The parallels I came away with between Bush and Hoover were also interesting Bush with his expansion of senior citizen entitlements and Hoover with his signing of tariffs put the republicans on the defensive and opened the doors for even bigger government Democrats
This should be required reading in our high schools Pass it on to High School Curriculum Administrators and History teachers Like seeds thrown about on infertile soil maybe a few will sprout

This book was very enlightening I too had been taught that FDR was one of the greatest Presidents ever Strangely similar to what is currently going on in todays politics A whole lot of buying votes by doling out favors The author used many facts and footnotes to back up his knowledge of the subject
