Going Rogue An American Life
>> Palin audio book
I bought this as a Christmas gift and never worried it would not get here in time Arrived within a few days and made my shopping experience easier
>> A look at Sarah s life in The Last Frontier
Sarah Palin has had a good life so far She feels blessed by GOD And this feeling of blessing emanates from every page of Going Rogue An American Life Palin s writing style is down to earth as another reviewer wrote it s like having coffee with the candidate for Vice President Not only did I learn about Sarah s childhood young adult life and middle age I also learned how her state shaped her life experience It s the geography the climate of Alaska that made Sarah who she is To appreciate her life you need to know about the 49th state Sarah gives us what we need to know about Alaska climate geography natural resources natives politics She weaves these facts into her political history
The 2008 race for the White House was not easy for Sarah She was abused by the media moreso than McCain Obama or Biden Sarah hurt but not defeated described how she persevered throughout the abuse
Obviously her political history did not end on November 4 2009 Nasty liberals continued to abuse her until she HAD to resign from her job So if you lost faith in her AFTER she left her governor post please read this book You will understand WHY she had to leave the job It s heartbreaking the abuse this woman and her family suffered at the hands of a few unhappy liberals
Going Rogue An American Life is an overview of Palin s career as a mother journalist and politician I hope that she writes a second book focused on Alaskan politics She s got a gift for politics and the written word so I look forward to her next book
>> Love of Country
Sarah Palin discusses her parents siblings and childhood in Idaho and Alaska She talks about her relationship with Todd her time on the basketball team experience of working through college competing in beauty pageants and early years of matrimony Mrs Palin s experience as a City Council Member Mayor and then Governor as well as her experience on the Alaskan Oil and Gas Conservation Commission AOGCC out shadow Obama s community organizer credentials yet she was often criticized in the main stream media Her discussion of the Alaskan Constitution and the State s stewardship of the environment is enlightening as was her explanation of four priorities as Governor 1 Living within your means 2 expand industry and resource development 3 Focus on core services and 4 Saving for the future Placing these priorities into action required a return to free market principles to ensure protection of the environment as well as support for the Alaskan people
Mrs Palin also provides keen insights on the dysfunctional McCain Campaign though she is very polite the birth of her Down s Syndrome child the pregnancy of her daughter the disappointing Katie Couric interview the alleged 150 000 wardrobe scandal and the exposure of her personal emails by a hacker She closes the book with a discussion on why she resigned from the Governor s office
The book is a detailed sometimes humorous sometimes tear jerking account of the Blood Sport of National Politics and how a middle class family was attacked by all quarters of the political and media elites An Average Joe may wonder why anyone would want to enter that world of slander and disinformation but Sarah Palin makes it clear her love of country
On a personal note I am glad I listened to the CD version of the book The book was read by the author and her points of emphasis and inflections in her voice really give the listener a better context of Sarah Palin as a wife a Mom and a person CD Length was about 7 hours
